Set up and Sign in time is from 2:00pm to 2:15pm.

Sing-a-long for all members from 2:15pm to 3.00pm.

Individual Performances from 3.00pm to 4:00pm.

Our Golden Rules

Please be courteous.
Turn off your cell phone.
Refrain from talking during a performance.
Refrain from playing your musical instrument or singing during a performance unless the performer has requested accompaniment or singing.
Stay seated during a performance.
Show your support of the performers and stay for the full meeting if you can.

Performance Policies and Procedures

The Music Group meeting offers instrumental musicians a great opportunity to perform live in front of an appreciative audience. Along with the "Golden Rules" (see above) here are some policies and procedures about performing at a Music Group meeting.

Before You Come to the Meeting

Prepare your sheet music (if needed).
Tune your instrument.
Practice! Practice! Practice!

What Is Provided at the Meeting

Vocal amplification for individual/group performances
Chair
Piano

Time Limit

During our 2-hour meeting there will be 6 ten-minute slots for solo and group performances. You may sign-up for a slot at 2:30pm.

The 10-minute performance allotment needs to be observed to allow all scheduled musicians their full performance time. Your performance time includes setup, breakdown, song introductions, and song performance. You can perform two songs as long as it fits within the 10-minute time allotment.

If you were unable to perform because all of the slots were filled please let the sign-up person know and you will be added to next month’s list.

The Performance

There will be a hand mic and a headset available for your performance as well as a music stand and a chair.

Backing Tracks

Backing tracks are allowed for instrumental performances only. Unfortunately, due to the high number of instrumental performers at our meetings we are unable to accommodate singers using backing tracks or karaoke. If a musician accompanies themselves on their instrument and sings, a backing track is okay. The musician must provide their own portable audio speaker to play their backing track. Remember, your equipment setup is part of your 10-minute time allotment.

The Audience

You are encouraged to bring your friends and family to the meeting to enjoy your performance. We ask that you stay for the full meeting so all of the musicians benefit from the encouragement of an audience’s applause.

Who We Are

Any Sun City Lincoln Hills resident who plays any instrument, sings, or enjoys listening to live music is welcome to attend the monthly Music Group meeting.

We welcome all musicians from beginner to advanced levels. There are no auditions. You will not be turned away because you are a beginner or “rusty” on your instrument. In fact, most of us have “dusted off” our instruments and enjoy presenting our latest work to this enthusiastic group.

Interested? Come to a meeting and meet your fellow musicians. If you’d like to perform a song or two you’re welcome to add your name to the sign-up sheet and perform.
